Summary: This is where all the big boys hang out. You can find a large assortment of games, each in a wide range of stakes. It’s not unusual to find poker pros playing $1000/$2000 fixed limit and $100/$200 no limit. You’ll usually see them playing Texas Holdem of Omaha Hi/Lo. I usually just look for the tables that are highlighted in red, which signifies that a Full Tilt Poker pro is playing there.

Pokerstars (USA Okay)

Summary: Pokerstars is the most trafficked poker site, with stakes ranging from penny games up to hundred dollar blinds. Pokerstars has the most stable software of any online poker room and you can multi-table with as many tables that you can fit on your screen.

Party Poker

Summary: Party Poker has grown exponentially in the past few years, and their pullout from the US hardly affected this growth. Party Poker has translated into over 10 different languages and still holds one of the top spots in the online poker industry. Famous for their Party Poker Million tournament, this is a great place for tournament players to play poker.

Absolute Poker (USA Okay)

Summary: Mark Seif plays here, and so do a whole bunch of loose players. I’ve always called Absolute Poker the frugal poker player’s online Las Vegas. You will find a whole ton of players at the low stakes poker tables. The stakes range from ultra low limit to $150/$300 fixed limit and $15/$25 no limit. The one thing that I like most about AP is that you can upload your own custom avatar.

PokerRoom

Summary: One of the largest online poker rooms in the world is PokerRoom. However, they pulled their business from the United States in October/November of 2006. If you’re not from the US, then PokerRoom is actually an excellent choice. You can find very high stakes poker games going on here. I’ve seen tables as high as $500/$1000 fixed limit and $100/$100 no limit/pot limit. They are connected to a very popular online casino as well, CasinoRoom.

Hollywood Poker

Summary: Endorsed by Vince Van Patten, Hollywood Poker is the place where you’ll find celebrities playing with each other. This is the best online poker site if you’re looking for a large poker bonus. Hollywood Poker has 5 different types of poker bonuses, each made to suit a different type of poker player. Hollywood Poker uses the OnGame network interface, which has proven to be very popular.

EuroPoker

Summary: EuroPoker is an offshoot of the world famous PokerRoom.com, except with a twist. This online poker site is made especially for European poker players, and allows players to use several types of currencies to play with. The poker bonus at EuroPoker is also specialized for European poker players.
