While big online action has been occurring frequently over the early stages of the month, one of of the biggest names in the world of online poker has been relatively absent from all of it. Until now.

Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies, a player known for his willingness to gamble and off-the-wall table banter, has just recently landed back on the high-stakes poker scene. After several losing months and a bad end to 2010, Sahamies who is known for his great PLO game was right back in the midst of play on Full Tilt Poker. Although probably modest from his point of view, the Finnish poker pro finished last week up $116K from the tables.

As mentioned, Pot-Limit Omaha has been where most of the action has been taking place on Full Tilt Poker and it was only a matter of time before Ziigmund showed up to the scene. His skills took over during the session, booking wins over highly competitive players Jared “harrington25″ Bleznick, Scott “URnotINdanger2″ Palmer and unknown German player davin77.

The 503-hand comeback session of Sahamies saw him take some juicy five-figure pots, including one where he found himself all-in with a set of aces on the turn. This particular pot swelled to the total of $47K, and the rest of his night at the $100/$200 PLO tables wasn’t shabby either.

Although six-figure wins are always welcomed, Sahamies’ feast at the tables may only come as as an hors d’oeuvre to his hunger for redemption. The Coinflip.com pro managed to squander several million dollars last year, a hole in which he’s still trying to dig himself out of.

Ziigmund will unfortunately need to string together several sessions of the magnitude to earn his money back. On the bright side however, Sahamies has been looking to increase his volume at the tables, even reverting back to his PokerStars account “Ilari_Fin” to hopefully increase his bottom line.

As of late, it appears to be working.

For the year, Sahamies is only down $155K thus far and is more than capable of playing his way out of that deficit.

In other online news, a German Limit specialist (not named Kagome Kagome) was busy accumulating chips over at the high-stakes Limit Hold’em games. O Fortuna PLS, Winning over $200K, appears to be up substantially for 2011 with last week’s victory. The total looks to be just over $1 million for the year.

Challenging O Fortuna PLS in terms of nightly profit was also Full Tilt red pro Matt Hawrilenko. Also known to dabble in the Limit Hold’em genre, Hawrilenko has instead been particularly busy taking down opponents in the high-stakes 2-7 Triple Draw games. At stakes of $1000/$2000 and $1500/$3000, it didn’t take very long for Hawrilenko to rack up over $150K in earnings. Although Hawrilenko is often in-and-out of action, he’s up an incredible $1.7 million in 2011 and only looks to be improving that statistic.

While we’re on the topic of great Limit players, the aforementioned Kagome Kagome was not so great last week. He hasn’t been very successful overall in 2011, and only managed to add an additional $235K to his loss total. Down nearly $2 million, the German player might have a tough year if he only continues to play tough competition.

EazyPeazy (-$187k), Alex Luneau (-$171k), chipchip (-$192k), and Davin77 (-$163k) round out the losers for this session.
