Throughout the day on Full Tilt Poker, poker professionals Phil Ivey and Tom “durrrr” Dwan were involved in ultra high stakes poker action. Their battle began with a $500/$1000 Pot-Limit H.A. game on Patrik’s Paradise along with a $500/$1000 PL Omaha match on Ivey Thunderdome. After 95 minutes of action, Ivey was up over $153K in mixed-game action and $222K+ in the PLO game.
After about a two hour break, they continued their heads-up war and go it for over five hours with several interruptions as other players joined their H.A. game. They also played 35 minutes of Pot-Limit H.A. on table Ivey towards the end of their match. It was all Ivey once again as he added nearly $598K during impressive heads-up H.A. play against Dwan and another $111K+ in the Thunderdome.
At the end of the day, both gamblers had played 1,124 total heads-up hands against each other. Six of those hands resulted in $200K+ pots in which Ivey managed to rake in five. Within a nine-hour time span, Ivey had amassed a convincing $1.085 million in winnings over Dwan. It turned out to be quite a day for Dwan in heads-up poker action as despite the substantial loss to Ivey, he also managed to rack up an outrageous $1.13 million win over Gus Hansen.
