Two of the game’s most aggressive players were going at it during the early morning hours on Full Tilt Poker. The epic battle between Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies began on deep-stack table durrrr where Sahamies raked in over $99K after 45 minutes against Dwan in $500/$1000 Pot-Limit Omaha action. With Dwan having previously won over $27K in some brief heads-up Pot-Limit HA action on table Ivey Mix and Patrik’s Paradise, Sahamies was up $72K+ on Dwan. Around 70 minutes later, Sahamies would return to the table as well as start up a $500/$1000 Pot-Limit Hold’em/Omaha game on table Patrik’s Paradise. They were playing for 90 minutes when the action died down in the mixed-game over on table Ivey, leaving both players in a thrilling three-table contest.
The ensuing 45 minutes of ultra high stakes heads-up action would favor Dwan as Sahamies faced some unfortunate luck. Already up over half-a-million in the PLO game, Dwan would end up hitting a river card to win a montrous $593K+ pot and then nailing a 3-outer against Sahamies’ flopped flush in another huge $430K+ hand less than 20 minutes later. That would prove to be too much as Sahamies quit the game several hands later with a large $722K+ loss at the table. That gave Dwan a total $623K+ win in 388 heads-up PL Omaha hands against Sahamies.
Back on the mixed-game tables, Dwan did his dominating during the Hold’em portion of the game. With “luckexpress10″ sitting down and donating over $41K on Patrik’s Paradise, Dwan managed to collect over $330K in PL Hold’em action. When the match was over, Dwan had racked up a total $391K+ win in Pot-Limit HA with Sahamies losing over $349K. The final tally of the legendary bout had Dwan with a sick $1.15 million win in 882 hands and Sahamies with a $973K+ loss in 886 hands.
