Dwan, Antonius Commence 50K Hand Challenge; Dwan Leads With $134K Win

After much excitement about the heads-up multi-table challenge Tom “durrrr” Dwan issued earlier this year, the first session finally took place. The stipulations of the challenge state that both players will engage in 50,000 heads-up hands of No-Limit Hold’em or Pot-Limit Omaha to be played on at least four simultaneous tables with minimum stakes of $200/$400 blinds. Dwan will be laying 3-to-1 odds as he puts up his $1.5 million against any taker’s $500,000. Any winnings/losses sustained during the competition will coincide with the payoff at the conclusion of the contest.

The fearless Fin, Patrik Antonius, is the first to take on Dwan as they played an early morning match on Full Tilt Poker durrrr Challenge tables 1, 2, 3, and 4. Their session went on for almost five hours with Dwan booking wins on three of the four tables after taking down all five six-figure pots played. After the first 1,541 hands of the challenge, Dwan is currently in the lead with $134,911.50 in winnings.
