Minieri Takes 3 of 4 $15K Freezeouts Over “APerfectGent”

An interesting proposition occured during the high stakes games on PokerStars when Dario Minieri challenged “APerfectGent” to a series of freezeouts. A freezeout is basically a tournament style cash game where no rebuying is allowed, the blinds remain the same, and a winner is declared when the other player goes bust. They decided to play on the $25/$50 NL Hold’em tables where the winner would not only win the $5K in cash from the table, but an additional $10K from a side-bet.

In essence, the two would end up playing two $15K freezeout simultaneously. It was all Minieri as he took down both freezeouts on tables Hyperenor II and Polydoros IV and then agreed to give his opponent a rematch. With another pair of matches running, “APerfectGent” had a chance to break even after taking down the first freezeout of the second set. But it was not to be as Minieri would come back from just $348 to take down the second table and finish with a sweet $30K victory over his opponent.
