Gamble Time… Antonius, “KObyTAPOUT” Do $60K Flips

December 31, 2007 | Leave a Comment

Right after seemingly being anally abused by Patrik Antonius, his good friend “KObyTAPOUT” asked for a $150K spot. Antonius appeared glad to transfer his buddy some playing cash and then “KObyTAPOUT” suggested a $60,000 flip. After having just relentlessly taken over $317,000 from his opponent, Antonius felt it would be only generous to grant him his request. They moved over to Full Tilt Poker table Journey and nonchalantly proceeded to move $60K all-in dark pre-flop. “KObyTAPOUT” took down the flip after conveniently being dealt two Queens and they decided to flip again. This time, Antonius was dealt another Ace-Ten — how sweet it must be — and managed to take down the $120K pot to break even after both flips.

Minieri Marvels With Showdown + Freezeout Double

December 31, 2007 | Leave a Comment

High stakes tournament specialist Dario Minieri is running hot on PokerStars with money making results. And this Sunday, he was on fire as he joined the $5,000 Freezeout and the $10,000 High Stakes Showdown. Down to three-handed play in the $5K Freezeout, the players struck a deal that gave them each $25K of the $100K first place prize and left the mandatory $25K on the side for the winner. And the eventual winner was none other than Minieri who netted himself nearly $45K for his victory.

While he was busy taking down the freezeout, Minieri was also running over high stakes professional Barry Greenstein as he was Minieri’s first opponent for the $10K High Stakes Showdown competition. Just over half-an-hour after winnings the strong field of the freezeout, Minieri finished off “Genius28″ in the final match of the showdown. With eight entries this week, the first place prize of $50K earned Minieri another $40K in winnings. As if going through those two elite field of players wasn’t enough, he also went deep in the $1,000 Sunday Million. First place was a whopping $353K+ payday, but Minieri finished 42nd out of 1,802 entrants for a $5,406 cash.

But he wasn’t done there. To finish things off, Minieri also took down the $200 Rebuy NL Hold’em tournament that also took place on Sunday for a $56K+ first place win. Three victories and a deep run in the week’s biggest tournament was how Dario Minieri spent his Sunday as he racked up an impressive $145K in tournament winnings.
