Airing on ESPN Sunday, October 21st, 2007 is The Doyle Brunson and Dewey Tomko Invitational golf tournament. This tournament is the first in the High Stakes Entertainment (HSE) Golf Tour. In this first telecast, nine professional poker players will each put up $1 Million of their own money to play.
The participants in Part One of the tourney are made up of three teams. Team One consists of Doyle Brunson, Dewey Tomko and Vince Van Patten. Team Two consists of Daniel Negreanu, Erick Lindgren and Josh Arieh. Team Three consists of Russ Hamilton, Phil Hellmuth and Bill Waters. They will be playing Blind Nine Scramble Play. Only nine out of eighteen holes count in the team’s final score. After the players have teed off tournament organizers will randomly select the nine holes in which the scores will be used.
The participants in Part Two which will be airing on ESPN Sunday, October 28th, 2007 are Phil Ivey, David Oppenheim, John Hanson, Mickey Appleman, Janet Jones, Butch Holmes, Al DeCarlo, David Grey, Hilbert Shirley and Huck Seed.
