With Phil Ivey waiting at the $300/$600 heads-up table on FullTilt as usual, “Purdue80″ decided to sit down and take a shot against the elite professional. After getting up to a quick $45K lead, Purdue80′s lead was quickly shortening as Ivey began to chip away. But before Ivey was able to do any sort of damage, Purdue80 quit playing after just 10 minutes and left with a nice $30K win. About two and a half hours later, Purdue80 came back for another shot in the big game, this time against the feared Patrik “Luigi66369″ Antonius. This match lasted longer as Purdue80 didn’t get off to a quick start. Less than an hour into the match, Antonius had chipped away nearly $40K when the following hand took place.

Antonius called Purdue80′s $5400 pre-flop raise and the flop came 7cJs7d. Facing a $10,800 flop bet, Antonius thought for a bit and made the call. The 6c on the turn prompted Purdue80 to move all-in for over $50K. Antonius thought even longer this time and reluctantly made the call. It was bad news for him as Purdue80 showed AcAd and was far ahead of Antonius’ QsQd. No miracle Queen on the river, and Purdue80 had quickly erased his loss and was now up $30K in the match as he raked in a $134K+ pot. And he would leave with the $30K in his pocket as the match was done immediately following this hand. Two quick hit-n-runs and Purdue80 found himself $60K+ against two of the best players in the game.

Yeah I was watching the matchup between Antonious and Ivey, and Ivey was truly getting frustrated and you can tell that some of the reraises that Antonious was putting on him especially after some check raises got to Phil. And then Phil left and Purdue came in and added on after a little hit he took a couple of hands into the match, and then Antonious had complete control of this match until this hand, everybody needs a nice cold deck to help them out.

Purdue didn’t “hit and run”. He gave notice to both players well in advance that he was not going to play long. Nice catchy headline though, donkey writer.
