Yesterday evening on FullTilt, Brian “sbrugby” Townsend has a surprise opponent at the $300/$600 No-Limit Hold’em table. David Benyamine sat down with a $24k stack to try and take down the experienced high stakes heads-up no-limit player. A few unsuccessful tries had Benyamine reloading multiple times until he was finally getting the best of sbrugby. But that didn’t last long as one final monster pot worth over $200k ended the hour-long battle.

sbrugby's Stack

Benyamine’s first buy-in was soon in sbrugby’s stack after an action flop saw all the money quickly go in the middle. The JsTsAh flop saw Benyamine raise all-in with As4s for top pair and a flush draw while sbrugby made the quick call with KhQs for the nuts. The Ad on the turn did give Benyamine 10 more outs to fill up in addition to his 8 flush outs. But it was just a tease though as the 3h fell on the river completely missing Benyamine. The nut-straight held up for sbrugby as he raked in a $47k+ pot and took the early lead.

Hand 1

Continuing with the short buy-ins, Benyamine was forced to play all-in poker. After his raise to $1800 pre-flop, sbrugby simply moved all-in with As4h and was called by Benyamine’s KsQh. After a Jh2s2h flop, the Ah on the turn left Benyamine with 11 outs on the river. The 7d didn’t improve either hand and sbrugby took down another all-in pot; this one worth $30k.

Hand 2

After buying in for the full $60k this time, Benyamine was chopped down to around the $40k mark when the following hand took place. A minimum pre-flop raise from sbrugby prompted a raise up to $3600 from Benyamine. The KdTdTc flop hit both players and Benyamine led out for $6k followed by sbrugby’s raise up to $20,500 before Benyamine moved all-in with a call from sbrugby. Benyamine had flopped top pair with his KhQd but sbrugby’s nice card rush continued as he flipped over Th4h for trip Tens. No miracle came and sbrugby pulled in an $81k+ pot.

Hand 3

Now down around $100k, Benyamine decided to take one more stab at the young internet pro. Another full $60k buy-in and he had run it up to over $100k, just $20k less than sbrugby’s stack. Then came a very interesting hand. The action started with sbrugby raising it up to $1800 pre-flop followed by a reraise up to $5400 from Benyamine. Then sbrugby made a rare third raise pre-flop up to $16,200 total. A quick call from Benyamine and these two gamblers were taking a flop with $32,400 already in the middle. The 5hAc8h flop got a check from Benyamine and a $20,500 bet from sbrugby. Benyamine made the call rather quickly and the turn brought the Qh. With over $73k sitting in the pot, Benyamine quickly moved all in for over $67k.

Hand 4 Turn

After thinking about the previous action, sbrugby finally made the huge call and showed AdKc for a pair of Aces. Benyamine flipped up JcJh for just a pair of Jacks as his attempt at stealing the huge pot was unsuccessful. He did have a live heart draw however, but one of the remaining 9 hearts did not hit the river. Instead, the 2s fell and sbrugby found himself raking in a $207k+ pot with just one pair. Benyamine quickly departed following the hand having dumped over $167k in the span of an hour.
