Matusow Fired Up In $100/$200 NL

In a 6-handed $20k buy-in no-limit game yesterday on FullTilt, the ever confrontational Mike “The Mouth” Matusow shared some words with fellow player “MyRenovatio.” Their back and forth trash talking during the game led to some interesting pots. In the end, Matusow went bust at the hands of a bad beat against none other than MyRenovatio himself. This of course led to some more words shared between the two.

Before the table filled up, MyRenovatio was running over Son-in-Law in a heads-up battle. After winning 7 of the last 10 hands and bringing his stack from $24k to over $38k, the following had came up. On a flop of 8c8h3h, Son-in-Law check-raised MyRenovatio’s $800 bet up to $2800 total. A reraise by MyRenovatio up to $9600, prompted a third raise of $10k more by Son-in-Law.

Hand 1 Flop

On the fourth raise of the flop, MyRenovatio finally pushed all in. A quick call for the extra $10k+ revealed As8s for Son-in-Law for trip Eights with an A-kicker. Unfortunately for him, MyRenovatio showed 3c3s for a flopped full house. Needing one of three Aces or the case Eight on the turn, Son-in-Law was praying for a suckout. The 4h on the turn didn’t hit Son-in-Law but did him 3 more outs to a better boat. The miracle card came on the river though, when the Ad gave Son-in-Law Eights full to better MyRenovatio’s Threes full. The lucky river allowed Son-in-Law to rake in the $61k+ pot.

Hand 1 Showdown

By the time the next hand came up, it was filled with players ready to gamble. After a raise under-the-gun by Matusow, he received a call from “jcmoussasux” out of the big blind. The rag flop of 6c4h3d suprisingly incited some action. Matusow’s continuation bet of $1500 was check-raised up to $6000 total. Matusow moved all-in for over $9k and a call from jcmoussasux revealed Matusow’s 6d7d good for top pair and jcmoussasux’s 5d5s for an open-ended straight draw. The 2d on the turn looked ugly for Matusow as it completed jcmoussasux’s straight. It did however give Matusow a flush draw. The river didn’t bring a diamond, but it did bring the 5c giving Matusow a higher straight and the $20k+ pot. The roller coaster hand evoked some excited words from Matusow.

Hand 2

This next hand started a personal battle between two players at the table. An open-raise from jcmoussasux invited a call from MyRenovatio and Matusow. The three players took a flop of Ad2c5c which cued Matusow to fire $1600 into the $2300 pot. A call from MyRenovatio and the two players saw the 9d on the turn. Matusow relentlessly fired another $4200 and MyRenovatio stubbornly made the call. With $13,900 sitting in the pot, the 3c on the river persuaded Matusow to check. MyRenovatio then fired a pot-sized bet which just covered Matusow’s $13k+ stack.

Hand 3 River

A quick call showed Ah8s for a pair of Aces for MyRenovatio and 4h4d for Matusow who rivered a straight which was good enough to take down the $40k+ pot. MyRenovatio made the table aware of his frustration following that pot and to aggressively take down pots against Matusow.

Hand 3 Showdown

After beating Matusow out of a $4500+ and a $6500+ pot within three hands, the following hand took place. An open-raise to $700 from MyRenovatio inspired a reraise to $2400 from Matusow. A call by MyRenovatio and they took a flop of Kh6cAd. Having the hand checked to him, Matusow bet $2600 into the $5100 pot. MyRenovatio called the small bet and the Jc fell on the turn. After it was checked once again, this time Matusow fired a pot-sized bet of $10,300. Another stubborn call from MyRenovatio and they both saw the Jd on the river. Checked again to Matusow, and after some thought, he finally gave up and checked it through. To the dissapointment of Matusow, MyRenovatio flipped up Ac3c for a piar of Aces to better Matusow’s 9d9c. Being disgusted with MyRenovatio’s play, Matusow shared some words with him at the completion the hand.

Hand 4

The next featured hand saw three players call $700 to see an action flop of KsQsJd. A lead bet on the flop of $1800 by jcmoussasux received a call from Matusow and and all-in from “wins_pot.” After a call by jcmoussasux, Matusow claims to hold AK and reluctantly folds his hand. With the hands shown, Matusow was relieved to see QcJc for wins_pot and KdJs for jcmoussasux. The turn and river didn’t bring a miracle Queen for wins_pot and jcmoussasux raked in the $17k+ pot with Kings and Jacks.

Hand 5

Some interesting poker was played when Matusow went up against wins_pot in a blind versus blind confrontation. Matusow raised it to $600 out of the small blind followed by a reraise to $1800 by wins_pot out of the big blind. A call from Matusow brought the Th7sTs flop. Matusow checked to wins_pot who followed up with a $1800 bet. Matusow check-raised the minimum up to $3600. A call from win_pot and the turn came the 7d putting two pair on the board. With the pot holding $10,800, Matusow fired a small bet of $3600. With another call from wins_pot, Matusow decided to check the Qh on the river. After an all-in for just under $6k from wins_pot, Matusow folded rather quickly and gave up the pot worth almost $18k. After wins_pot asked if he would’ve called $1000 bet on the river, Matusow answered he wouldn’t have called anything, as he held JJ. Quad Tens is what wins_pot insisted he had while Matusow responded with his usually rant about his bad luck.

Hand 6 River

All the tension between Matusow and MyRenovatio culminated in the ensuing hand. A raise to $700 from MyRenovatio, followed by a reraise to $2400 from Matusow, led to a quick all-in from MyRenovatio. Matusow quickly called the huge over bet and found himself in a great position to double up as his QhQs were far ahead of MyRenovatio’s JhJc. The tables were soon turned though, as MyRenovatio nailed a set right on the flop leaving Matusow hoping for a third Queen or a running straight. Two bricks on the turn and river left Matusow enraged over his bad fortune while MyRenovatio immaturely rubbed the $36k+ beat in his face.

One final big hand occured between “mjorgenson13″ and “Urindanger.” After a raise from Urindanger, mjorgenson13 made it $2400 to go from the button. A call from Urindanger brought the TsKhKs flop. The flop action saw a check from Urindanger, a $3400 bet from mjorgenson13, and a call from Urindanger. The Qd on the river was certainly an action card. It was checked once again to mjorgenson13 who thought for a few seconds before finally pushing all-in. A quick call from Urindanger revealed his QcQs for Queens full on the turn. What looked to be a beautiful turn for mjorgenson13 turned out to be a sour one, as he flipped over Jh9d for a straight on the turn that was drawing dead. After Urindanger raked in his $36k+ pot, the table quickly broke within four hands. With only “Ph1LLeD1NGUE” and “Ozzy 87″ left at the table, Ph1LLeD1NGUE stated he wouldn’t play with Ozzy 87 at the $100/$200 level. And so there sat the ever feared Ozzy 87 awaiting his next victim.
