There was an unusual $1k/2k limit Razz game being played between David Benyamine and “poltergeist.” The short heads-up match was dominated by poltergeist. It appeared as though Benyamine was playing a fast and loose game and the match included two interesting hands in which Benyamine made some unconventional plays. These hands were, interestingly enough, the biggest pots of the contest.
On this first hand, Benyamine 3-bet the turn and called poltergeist’s 4th bet only to fold on 7th street. This action might have been as a result of some tilt as poltergeist was continuously increasing his stack. Benyamine was showing 6d-Kc-9c-6c for at best a K-lo and drawing to a best possible 9-lo. On the other hand, poltergeist was showing Jh-2c-5c-Js for a possible made J-lo and probably drawing to much better than a 9-lo. Even Huckleberry, who appeared to be viewing the action, seemed to be puzzled by Benyamine’s play.

The other entertaining hand was the biggest pot of the heads-up match. Once again, Benyamine’s loose and aggressive style had him capping the betting on 5th street showing 3c-Jc-Kc against poltergeist’s Th-Js-5d. After a bet-call 6th and 7th street, poltergeist’s hand, reavealing a 9h-2d-Th-Js-5d-6c-Ad, showed that Benyamine was actually drawing dead on 6th street. In the end, poltergeist won the $28k pot and finished with a nice win, leaving the table with a stack over $111k.
