“poltergeist” Staying Active With Some Hold’em

After some heads-up Razz games in which “poltergeist” seemed to get the best of his opponents, it was time for some heads-up $1k/2k Hold’em action against “LazySunday.” This match didn’t bode as well for poltergeist as LazySunday was able to leave the table as the victor with almost a $114k stack and claiming a win of over $50k.

One hand in which poltergeist was able to catch up to LazySunday had poltergeist’s K-3 offsuit running down LazySunday’s pocket Aces. With a check-raise by LazySunday on the turn, his river bet was only called by poltergeist with trip Kings. After hitting running Kings, poltergeist raked in the $20k pot.

On this next hand, LazySunday was able to win an $18k pot showing down a K-6 hi. After getting 3-bet on the 2d-3h-5s flop, poltergeist check-called the next two streets. He did take some time to finally call the river with what seemed to possibly be a K-4 for a flopped straight draw, but was certainly frustrated to see K-6 hi take down the pot.

The final hand before poltergeist finally gave up on the match had LazySunday pairing his supposed weaker kicker on the turn to take down a $20k pot. After a capped pre-flop, Lazy Sunday check-raised the flop and turned two pair to overtake poltergeist’s declared A-J.
